Yeah so I know I'm pathetic, sitting at home on a Saturday night after working a soccer game, but I got to do something that I've needed to do for a long time: finally see Pulp Fiction. That is such a freaking awesome movie. It's hillarious. Definitely more reason for Samuel L. Jackson to be the badass of the century...quoting Ezekiel (who's quoting God) just before killing someone. Dang. And then realizing what the passage should really mean after, somehow, bullets go through him and his partner Vincent (John Travolta). A must see if you haven't but I'm pretty sure that I was the only one left... Until then---

I was feeling this song today...so I decided i'd share:
Climbing up on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city lights
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
Had to listen had no choice
I did not believe the information
Just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom
"Son," he said "Grab your things,
I've come to take you home."
To keepin' silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Tho' my life was in a rut
'Till I thought of what I'd say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
When illusion spin her net
I'm never where I want to be
And liberty she pirouette
When I think that I am free
Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes but still can see
No one taught them etiquette
I will show another me
Today I don't need a replacement
I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,
they've come to take me home."

I'm bored, so I think I'm going to write or something. I dunno really what I'm going to put here. Right now I kind of have a headache. But not really... The SCR party is going down somewhere areound here, but I don't really want to go coz I'm kinda waiting for a phone call from a long lost...not really...maybe long not heard from, may still be, but not sure, but also hoping so, girlfriend of mine. I don't know. Just a little thing. That seemed a weird thing to write... Idunno, maybe nasty. I'm thinking about playing with another band until BE can get it's act together...but I dunno if that's right... It's kinda my fault that it's not really there right now, I guess... But I think that God has me on call...like I've got to really call Him...bad. Freaking school starts tomorrow! Dang it all! I don't wantto go... I pretty much over school. I enjoy learning as long as the homework doesn't suck. or maybe no home work... I've got to figure out how to make some real money... I have none and I may only have one guitar lesson set up so far for this fall. I need to advertize more. I GIVE GUITAR LESSONS!!! THEY ARE GOOD!! I SWEAR THAT YOU GET MORE FOR YOUR BUCK WITH ME THAN SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I'm too concieted...egotistical? what ever..both probably. I think that I may want to do Chapman Radio finally...but at the same time Idunno if I want to take that time away from anything else that I could potentially do...like ... this? I'm done...still bored...don't want to type any more...at least for now...video games? Until then---
Right now I smell like smoke and you weren't even there. I'm going to vent for a second. Maybe it's not really venting but it getting something out that I'm just so confuzed about. I don't know what's going on; with me with you, us. I haven't even had a chance to really talk with you since you've been home. All I know is that when you left, we were on the "we're not sure" and "let's wait on God for this time away" terms and we're supposed to see what's up now that you're back. I'll just say that it's messing me up. With some of the other stuff that's going on with me, I just don't know what to think when you say you'll call me and don't get around to it. At the same time, I know you're busy and I don't want to impose on that. That is definitely mutual understanding. You seem excited when I call you but phone conversation is never as real as face-to-face. I need to be able to talk to you everyonce in a while. It's not like you're on another country anymore which was hard enough. But I know...I"m supposed to be waiting to see what God wants to do. Well I want to know if what I heard matched up with what you heard! I just feel as though I'm losing it; myself, and all that I know God has planned, coz I know that I'm not always in tune with what God wants for me. I feel like I'm habitually screwing His plans for me up. I don't want this to be another one...another screw up. I don't like being a failure especially for the One who has been there for me since forever. I'm just wondering where we stand...that's all. I know my side, but I think, somehow, I've ruined it... I've failed... somehow... again. Until then---

KING: We're back with Bono. You mentioned being Christian, and...
BONO: Trying to be.
KING: ... trying to be. Are you -- do you like organized religion? Are you a Catholic? Do you go to mass?
BONO: Who in Ireland could have too much respect for organized religion? We've seen it tear our country in two.
My mother was a Protestant. My father was a Catholic. And I learned that religion is often the enemy of God, actually.
And religion is this sort of -- religion is the artifice, you know, the building, after God has left it sometimes, like Elvis has left the building. You hold onto religion, you know, rules, regulations, traditions. I think what God is interested in is people's hearts, and that's hard enough.
My friend Dan (aka Danus) Orris' has this on his AIM profile. I thought this to be interesting, and insightful, and from a musicians mouth. I'm telling you, most of us are the ones that get it! Until then---

I won't usually promote movies mainly because I'm not a film person (but maybe that's why I should promote movies) but "Tears of the Sun" starring Bruce Willis (sorry Aro) is freaking good. It's definitely a thinker, and whether you're pro-war or not you should see it to get your noodle going. On that note I leave. Until then---

"It smells like cleaning outside and my socks are wet."
"I can smell the cleaning and my feet."
"I can hear Godzilla in our closet."
You heard it second....three in a row from this guy. I walk outside...thirty seconds later I walk in, say a line. Take off my socks, say a line. Enter our closet to put my socks with my dirty clothes, say a line. Ah...like clock work. Until then---

For some reason there must be some evil ploy to make sure that most college students do not come out of college with a better understanding of Christ. There are definitely not the same types of outreaches that there are with the other levels, like high school, or middle school. What I'm thinking of inperticular is Wyld Life, which is for middle-schoolers, and Young Life, for high-schoolers. Why isn't there something for us? I know that they can't think that we've got it all figured out when all 'elders of the church' talk about is the "troubled youth." Now the purpose for the two aforementioned groups is to provide a non-threatening place to share the Gospel of Christ. It's genuinely fun times lead by Christians that aren't trying to force you into submission but to give people (in this case kids) an understanding of Christ. Now, I do believe that the main problem within the church and with those that don't believe (I usually even categorize these people together since they have the same problem) is that they don't have an understanding of who Christ is. People within the church usually focus too much on the legalistic aspect of the church and those that hve no reason to believe see this as blasphemy and won't have anything to do with it and therefore nothing to do with Christ. Well folks, this legalism is blasphemous. If we bust out our good ol' SAT knowledge, we'd observe that the suffix, "-ism", means "the belief in." So... basically this means that the people hooked on the religion not the faith, believe in the law, not in Christ therefore making them non-Christian. This is in line with the people so stuck in their: "I'm Baptist" (believing merely the baptism), or "I'm Evangelist" (believing that they have to go out and tell people about telling people about telling people...), or "I'm Lutheran" (You know that Martain Luther didn't want to be worshipped!). Ok so that's pretty extreme, but the idea is that those labels shouldn't matter. In Acts 2, the writer, Luke writes about the first church. They usually didn't have a permamnent building, if they had one at all, and it was total freedom in Christ. All that mattered was Christ. The only thing that should matter is Christ, and learning more about him and doing what He wants you to do. Until that realization is made, there will be a lack of faith. Our humanism will have gotten in the way...like usual. I think that I got a bit off of my point... oh well. Until then---

So I've been meaning to at least mention this: I really like you. Ok so that sounds really "high school," right? But that's all I can really start with. You're all that I think about other than Jesus, and my music, and you somehow bleed into those as well. I don't know... Maybe I'm just tripping. I remember when I first saw you at Refuge. I thought you were really cute but I was just getting over an ex-girlfrind at the time and I knew that I needed to straighten out other priorities that I had at that point... so dating you was definitely not an option. Not out of mind though. I remember me and a buddy, Bowser, noticing you simutaneously that night and he was all for you. That was fine by me. He's been tripping on the fact that he "needs a girlfriend" so more power to him. Good ol' first-day meetings are so great...
So time passed and I really only saw you at Refuge every week which wasn't bad coz, again, there was no reason to really want to see you more, and I didn't want to develop something between us that couldn't work at that point (at least from my side). As aquaintances, things were cool. I knew that you and my friends were hanging out a lot, and one especially as he began to date your roommate. Good ol' buddy, Bootante. But Bowser had other things in sight for him. Another girl walks into Refuge one night and he's trippin' on her! I mean trippin'! His eyes were for her, but they were also for you...somehow. I don't know. Well when things began to clear up for me, I allow for things to happen that could possibly go in the direction of "dating", whatever that means. It's kind of the point that I'm still standing at since I don't know where I can stand with any female. Since that point, I've become much netter friends with you and really began to have feelings for you to hopefully be more than just friends. This is the part where I always mess up. I either wait too long, or I go in when the time is not right... either way the time is not right but that's not the point. The point is that I don't want to ruin our friendship nor mine with Bowser (since now he's been shut down by his other girl, and you're his fall-back). I don't really like that for one second but I don't know where you guys stand. I just pray that Jesus holds on to you and tells what He wants you to do. I know you'll listen. I pray the same for me and even Bowser. Until then---

La dee Da... So most recently (yesterday...) I've come across this quotes page which probably has the most obvious web address: www.quotationspage.com. It's really cool. I like quotes (hence the quotes page that I have on this site that I've not updated since last semester sometime). I found a good for today. "The whole problem can be stated quite simply by asking, 'Is there a meaning to music?' My answer would be, 'Yes.' And 'Can you state in so many words what the meaning is?' My answer to that would be, 'No.'"Stimulating isn't it!? The twentieth century composer, Aaron Copland, said this and I find it totally true. Music is such a gift of God to us and there is no way to truly describe how it makes you feel or whatever it does to you.
"Music is essentially useless, as life is." - George Santayana. I was just thinking about what I'd really be wanting to do in a normal day of the rest of my life... without being married yet of course. Lemme think: Wake up, when ever and read my bible. Shower to wake up the senses then play guitar, hopefully jamming with my band. I might eat somewhere in here...at least I should. Keep playing more music. If I have a significant other at the time, I'd want to see her of course. More music. Maybe some video games if I have the time before bed. Then bed... I think that that would be chill. The only thing is that I'd absolutely have to be making money playing music, as I know I will be... no worries there. But the thing is that I know that there is no way that God has that chill schedule in the near future, and that's ok. I can think about it can't I? At least I know He's got me in His hands. *singing* He's got the whole world in his hands. *stop singing* He he. It's so true... and I wish that the whole world knew.
Kind of on that, I saw someone get used for the Lord hardcore today. Chelsea Kreitler (Moore, to some) did her speech today in my COM 101 lab today. She usually isn't even in that class time so I know that there was someting about me seeing and hearing her give this speech. It was cool coz she basically explained Christianity to a class that mostly contains people that are or have been turned away from it or just are of a religion instead of a faith. That was almost exactly what she was talking about, too; that fact that Christianity is about the relationship between us and Jesus, not about the religion (rules and laws). Right on. I'm glad that I go to hear that today... I was blessed and I pray that that may have changed some hearts. Amen.
Now I've been doing this blog as kind of an all-day thing today, and I think that it may work out better this way in order to keep it up more often... I might try this again soon. Until then---

I think that I might get back into doing this... Alright. To all you fans out there... Ahem. Ok. I know that there is really only like one or maybe two people that read this... including me when I write it but I'm coming back to doing this for me anyway so this doesn't matter!! MUUUAAAHHHHAHAHAHAHAAA!! Anyway, a lot has been going on with me and the world that I live in. Right now I'm sick, which sucks coz I don't allow myself to go out and DO stuff. I miss outside, and some of my classes... well I've missed more than a few classes and soccer practice for the past three days...today included. Sucks. Oh well...I think that I should have taken this Blog back up earlier but instead, I've been living vicariously though the Breakfast Epiphanies website. It's been updated and changed around a bit if you haven't seen... (again, if I'm not talking to myself either)... it's pretty cool. But honestly, the band has been my life aside from school and church. Another reason that I've not been on here... I think a fair excuse...
So sense I know that I can't catch up with EVERYTHING, I won't. Instead there will be a quick jump to now. *JUMP* That wasn't so hard. I've had a request by my roommate, Aaron, to tell more of my stories from my life about the opposite sex and how they've affected me. Luckily for us all, I've got the perfect story!...
Alright so this is Saturday, October 26, 4:30 PM, and Breakfast Epiphanies has finished their second show of the weekend. (All went well except the PA...It sucked hardcore!!) Everything gets put away, at least kind of (there's still a two amps and other stuff in the back of my car), and me and Aro decide to go to Rocktober (80's party at Kevins, Wiggum's guitarist, house) and see Wiggum play their second show, as we both had missed the first the night before. So we get decked out, as best we can (Aro had a 'Flock of Seagulls' look going for him), and head over at about 8:50. Let's just say we got lost coz I thought that the house was on one side of Main Street when it was on the other side... Anyway, we get there 5 minutes after the band had finished their set ~ 9:35. Sucks. So we're there and we realize that the only person that we really know at the party is Djay (bassist of the band) and eveyone else there is leagally drinking...in other words, quite a bit older. So, we ditch that party and take my amp back (Wiggum had just borowed it) and decide to go to the Chapman Homecoming dance thingy that was at the school.
We go. Chilled. Heard the girl get Jedi Mind-tricked into taking all her clothes off, MJ beating it, and the Quad-City DJ's Choo-choo Train. Seriously, there were about 5 people when we got there, 30 somewhere inbetween, then 9 when we left and we did no dancing... (unfortunately?). Anyway, we leave that and head back to our room.
Here's the fun part:
It's 11 o'clock when Aro and I get to our room and we see three people sitting outside of it. One, once we got closer, we could see was our roomate, Grants', friend from home (San Jose...6-7 hours away mind you) Christina. I then assume that Grant would know the other two as well and Aro and I introduce ourselves to Aaron and Melinda. So here we are with Grants friends and we explain to them that we haven't seen him since 4:30 and that it's pretty messed up of Grant to say that it's cool to visit and not be there. Also, since he doesn't ever carry his cell phone anymore, there was no way of finding him! The funny thing is that I faintly remember Grant mentioning them coming down, but what ever (we later find that it was all just a miscommunication). So we have them over and we all decide that Grant makes cool friends as ultimate compensation for his uncoolness. We also decide that we should ditch him because of this and because he ditches us! Simple enough! We chill for a while and actually make plans for Sunday afternoon to go to the Getty.
Now the reason for this story:
Melinda, who actually is now technically a local coz she goes to Biola University, is very cool. I notice something about her that is totaly awesome and I don't even know really what it is. We don't get to talk too much that night about more personal stuff coz we spent most of it bashing on Grant, but I definitely feel as though I need to get to know her a lot better. The thing about this is that I know that I really don't need anything beyond a friendship with anyone right now because where I am with BE and school. This is something from God for sure because I really want to have a girlfriend at the very least to be there and for us comfort each other...Dang the hormones!! Moving along... So with the feelings that I have towards Melinda, I know that they aren't going to go beyond a friendship (coz they can't) at the moment but I know that I have the feelings that make me think that there could be something in the future. Idunno, but this is the first time that I can honestly say that I would not pursue any more than a friendship until there were an appointed time by God. I know that he'd tell me. Besides, after the trip to the Getty, I decide to ask her out to talk and see what happens. I actually pull this off somehow last night (if you've read before, I've had problems with this whole asking girls to a date thing), being Wednesday. Now she asks me if this 'date' is like 'boyfriend-girlfriend' or just going out as friends. She continues that she is waiting for God to lead her to where she is going before she takes steps to find a mate (there's the date to mate thing too...I'm all for that as well). Basically this means to her no casual dating, which is fine by me and actually blessed me when she said it. The whole conversation blessed me last night as she insisted that I must think that she is weird to be waiting and I laughed praised God because that is exactly what I needed to hear even though I just got "shut-down" in the worldy view of things. But all is good with the Lord so we're going to make plans to go out with our friends and get a chance to talk to each other there...like on Sunday. All I can say is: Thank you Lord for that. I'm actually willing to wait if this be it (I kind of went pirate on that...).
I think that that was interesting enough for days of entertainment! I'll work on updating more than once a month...with actual substance, too. Promise. Until then---

Just so you know, I'm not dead or anything... Just busy, slash not remembering to update, slash just plain lazy....yadda yadda yadda. Any way, I've been told by people to actually update my page. I'd have to agree with those few. After that last update, I was trying to do some changes to the template for this log, but some of the plans fell through, and again I was just lazy, slash forgot, slash busy...
So Breakfast Epiphanies is rockin' the free world (mainly Pralle-Sodaro Hall but what ever). Our new drummer, Brett has been keepin it real and the rest or us (Grant, Christina, and I) have only become more tight (like a tiger... -- Goldmember...). We totally have an audiece now...it's pretty scary but at the smae time, it's what I've been working for for a long time now. Gods plan for me is slowly becoming more and more real every day. That's what I get for never doubting it. I got so hooked up with the situations that I did that there is no way that I could have pulled this stuff off without Him. Breakfast Epiphanies would not exist. Word.
Life around here is wacky as usual. We like to keep it real in the substance-free floor!! I still walk around half naked, and everybody is always in everybody elses business, and all of us are always in trouble for propping doors open (FIRE HAZARD??, what?), and and noises in the hall means that there are heads popping out of every door (we sound nosey, but we actually just join in with the fun). And of course, if you keep up with the real writer in the room, Grant and Aaron, their websites have kept up with the details of our plights. He he, I still swear that when you come to college, you revert back to being a two year-old but with rights, and a little more knowledge. Some people use it, others don't. I think that that's the difference between those that go out and get drunk every night and cause a ruckus but don't remember a thing that happened and those that go out and actually can enjoy causing a ruckus all in good fun. Well being the drunkard...just kidding. Well I'm off to shower and start my day! The rain in Spain falls gently on the plain. Until then---

Finally...! My stupid computer wouldn't let me update my page... I really didn't mean to leave you all hangin', I couldn't get blogger to work on my CPU. Oh well enough of that, I'm back and that's what matters. I'm now two weeks into school, and things are good so far. I may get a chance to tell you all about it later, but for now, I just wanted to tell all that I'm back, and ready for action! Until then---

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! As put best by Jim Morrison: "Summer's almost gone." Darn it!! I'm not ready for that yet!! I want people to come back and sure that means that school has to start up too, but really: how many people really want it to? I know that I'm not ready to start the vigorous schedule of classes and soccer, then trying to balance out those with free time (i.e. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, watching Plastic Bag Man in action...)! That whole thing of having to remember to eat and when you can; finding time to sleep; remembering that you actually need to sleep; keeping up with the latest thing that is going on in your room (who cares about other rooms when your own room has the most fun?)... Geez... Then Breakfast Epiphanies, too! I don't know how this will work or how it did at all last semester... Whatever. I know that I want to get my degree just in case I screw something up with what I believe is my calling. That should help keep my focus. Right now I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for school this semester. The way I see it, I'm screwed no matter what happens right now. Until I get my potential job at Lowes (knock on wood), I have no real source of income. My parents aren't going to be able to help me out and I really don't want them to have to; I've got two siblings for them to take care of...in Italy no doubt! Even after that, I won't be able to pay the school with that money... Next, if I choose to drop out for a few semesters, I will have to start paying off loans while paying for a house or apartment that I'll be renting out. Right. About that. Not happening. I need to save as much money as possible for the day that I need to actually get the house that I'm hoping to get soon with Grant, Aaron, and Djay at least...
Well yeah, so this is the last month of not truly being a "wise fool" of college and I'm looking forward to it. Besides the aformentioned stresses (don't I sound educated?), it should be a good year in the "most definitely" category. I really want to get to playing with the band and getting a full-length release out to the public. I honestly hope that everyone (Grant, Christina, and... well Christina) is as pshyched and as ready as I am to get things done as a band. It'll be fun!! Until then---
