"It smells like cleaning outside and my socks are wet."
"I can smell the cleaning and my feet."
"I can hear Godzilla in our closet."
You heard it second....three in a row from this guy. I walk outside...thirty seconds later I walk in, say a line. Take off my socks, say a line. Enter our closet to put my socks with my dirty clothes, say a line. Ah...like clock work. Until then---

For some reason there must be some evil ploy to make sure that most college students do not come out of college with a better understanding of Christ. There are definitely not the same types of outreaches that there are with the other levels, like high school, or middle school. What I'm thinking of inperticular is Wyld Life, which is for middle-schoolers, and Young Life, for high-schoolers. Why isn't there something for us? I know that they can't think that we've got it all figured out when all 'elders of the church' talk about is the "troubled youth." Now the purpose for the two aforementioned groups is to provide a non-threatening place to share the Gospel of Christ. It's genuinely fun times lead by Christians that aren't trying to force you into submission but to give people (in this case kids) an understanding of Christ. Now, I do believe that the main problem within the church and with those that don't believe (I usually even categorize these people together since they have the same problem) is that they don't have an understanding of who Christ is. People within the church usually focus too much on the legalistic aspect of the church and those that hve no reason to believe see this as blasphemy and won't have anything to do with it and therefore nothing to do with Christ. Well folks, this legalism is blasphemous. If we bust out our good ol' SAT knowledge, we'd observe that the suffix, "-ism", means "the belief in." So... basically this means that the people hooked on the religion not the faith, believe in the law, not in Christ therefore making them non-Christian. This is in line with the people so stuck in their: "I'm Baptist" (believing merely the baptism), or "I'm Evangelist" (believing that they have to go out and tell people about telling people about telling people...), or "I'm Lutheran" (You know that Martain Luther didn't want to be worshipped!). Ok so that's pretty extreme, but the idea is that those labels shouldn't matter. In Acts 2, the writer, Luke writes about the first church. They usually didn't have a permamnent building, if they had one at all, and it was total freedom in Christ. All that mattered was Christ. The only thing that should matter is Christ, and learning more about him and doing what He wants you to do. Until that realization is made, there will be a lack of faith. Our humanism will have gotten in the way...like usual. I think that I got a bit off of my point... oh well. Until then---

So I've been meaning to at least mention this: I really like you. Ok so that sounds really "high school," right? But that's all I can really start with. You're all that I think about other than Jesus, and my music, and you somehow bleed into those as well. I don't know... Maybe I'm just tripping. I remember when I first saw you at Refuge. I thought you were really cute but I was just getting over an ex-girlfrind at the time and I knew that I needed to straighten out other priorities that I had at that point... so dating you was definitely not an option. Not out of mind though. I remember me and a buddy, Bowser, noticing you simutaneously that night and he was all for you. That was fine by me. He's been tripping on the fact that he "needs a girlfriend" so more power to him. Good ol' first-day meetings are so great...
So time passed and I really only saw you at Refuge every week which wasn't bad coz, again, there was no reason to really want to see you more, and I didn't want to develop something between us that couldn't work at that point (at least from my side). As aquaintances, things were cool. I knew that you and my friends were hanging out a lot, and one especially as he began to date your roommate. Good ol' buddy, Bootante. But Bowser had other things in sight for him. Another girl walks into Refuge one night and he's trippin' on her! I mean trippin'! His eyes were for her, but they were also for you...somehow. I don't know. Well when things began to clear up for me, I allow for things to happen that could possibly go in the direction of "dating", whatever that means. It's kind of the point that I'm still standing at since I don't know where I can stand with any female. Since that point, I've become much netter friends with you and really began to have feelings for you to hopefully be more than just friends. This is the part where I always mess up. I either wait too long, or I go in when the time is not right... either way the time is not right but that's not the point. The point is that I don't want to ruin our friendship nor mine with Bowser (since now he's been shut down by his other girl, and you're his fall-back). I don't really like that for one second but I don't know where you guys stand. I just pray that Jesus holds on to you and tells what He wants you to do. I know you'll listen. I pray the same for me and even Bowser. Until then---

La dee Da... So most recently (yesterday...) I've come across this quotes page which probably has the most obvious web address: www.quotationspage.com. It's really cool. I like quotes (hence the quotes page that I have on this site that I've not updated since last semester sometime). I found a good for today. "The whole problem can be stated quite simply by asking, 'Is there a meaning to music?' My answer would be, 'Yes.' And 'Can you state in so many words what the meaning is?' My answer to that would be, 'No.'"Stimulating isn't it!? The twentieth century composer, Aaron Copland, said this and I find it totally true. Music is such a gift of God to us and there is no way to truly describe how it makes you feel or whatever it does to you.
"Music is essentially useless, as life is." - George Santayana. I was just thinking about what I'd really be wanting to do in a normal day of the rest of my life... without being married yet of course. Lemme think: Wake up, when ever and read my bible. Shower to wake up the senses then play guitar, hopefully jamming with my band. I might eat somewhere in here...at least I should. Keep playing more music. If I have a significant other at the time, I'd want to see her of course. More music. Maybe some video games if I have the time before bed. Then bed... I think that that would be chill. The only thing is that I'd absolutely have to be making money playing music, as I know I will be... no worries there. But the thing is that I know that there is no way that God has that chill schedule in the near future, and that's ok. I can think about it can't I? At least I know He's got me in His hands. *singing* He's got the whole world in his hands. *stop singing* He he. It's so true... and I wish that the whole world knew.
Kind of on that, I saw someone get used for the Lord hardcore today. Chelsea Kreitler (Moore, to some) did her speech today in my COM 101 lab today. She usually isn't even in that class time so I know that there was someting about me seeing and hearing her give this speech. It was cool coz she basically explained Christianity to a class that mostly contains people that are or have been turned away from it or just are of a religion instead of a faith. That was almost exactly what she was talking about, too; that fact that Christianity is about the relationship between us and Jesus, not about the religion (rules and laws). Right on. I'm glad that I go to hear that today... I was blessed and I pray that that may have changed some hearts. Amen.
Now I've been doing this blog as kind of an all-day thing today, and I think that it may work out better this way in order to keep it up more often... I might try this again soon. Until then---

31.10.02

I think that I might get back into doing this... Alright. To all you fans out there... Ahem. Ok. I know that there is really only like one or maybe two people that read this... including me when I write it but I'm coming back to doing this for me anyway so this doesn't matter!! MUUUAAAHHHHAHAHAHAHAAA!! Anyway, a lot has been going on with me and the world that I live in. Right now I'm sick, which sucks coz I don't allow myself to go out and DO stuff. I miss outside, and some of my classes... well I've missed more than a few classes and soccer practice for the past three days...today included. Sucks. Oh well...I think that I should have taken this Blog back up earlier but instead, I've been living vicariously though the Breakfast Epiphanies website. It's been updated and changed around a bit if you haven't seen... (again, if I'm not talking to myself either)... it's pretty cool. But honestly, the band has been my life aside from school and church. Another reason that I've not been on here... I think a fair excuse...
So sense I know that I can't catch up with EVERYTHING, I won't. Instead there will be a quick jump to now. *JUMP* That wasn't so hard. I've had a request by my roommate, Aaron, to tell more of my stories from my life about the opposite sex and how they've affected me. Luckily for us all, I've got the perfect story!...

Alright so this is Saturday, October 26, 4:30 PM, and Breakfast Epiphanies has finished their second show of the weekend. (All went well except the PA...It sucked hardcore!!) Everything gets put away, at least kind of (there's still a two amps and other stuff in the back of my car), and me and Aro decide to go to Rocktober (80's party at Kevins, Wiggum's guitarist, house) and see Wiggum play their second show, as we both had missed the first the night before. So we get decked out, as best we can (Aro had a 'Flock of Seagulls' look going for him), and head over at about 8:50. Let's just say we got lost coz I thought that the house was on one side of Main Street when it was on the other side... Anyway, we get there 5 minutes after the band had finished their set ~ 9:35. Sucks. So we're there and we realize that the only person that we really know at the party is Djay (bassist of the band) and eveyone else there is leagally drinking...in other words, quite a bit older. So, we ditch that party and take my amp back (Wiggum had just borowed it) and decide to go to the Chapman Homecoming dance thingy that was at the school.
We go. Chilled. Heard the girl get Jedi Mind-tricked into taking all her clothes off, MJ beating it, and the Quad-City DJ's Choo-choo Train. Seriously, there were about 5 people when we got there, 30 somewhere inbetween, then 9 when we left and we did no dancing... (unfortunately?). Anyway, we leave that and head back to our room.
Here's the fun part:
It's 11 o'clock when Aro and I get to our room and we see three people sitting outside of it. One, once we got closer, we could see was our roomate, Grants', friend from home (San Jose...6-7 hours away mind you) Christina. I then assume that Grant would know the other two as well and Aro and I introduce ourselves to Aaron and Melinda. So here we are with Grants friends and we explain to them that we haven't seen him since 4:30 and that it's pretty messed up of Grant to say that it's cool to visit and not be there. Also, since he doesn't ever carry his cell phone anymore, there was no way of finding him! The funny thing is that I faintly remember Grant mentioning them coming down, but what ever (we later find that it was all just a miscommunication). So we have them over and we all decide that Grant makes cool friends as ultimate compensation for his uncoolness. We also decide that we should ditch him because of this and because he ditches us! Simple enough! We chill for a while and actually make plans for Sunday afternoon to go to the Getty.

Now the reason for this story:
Melinda, who actually is now technically a local coz she goes to Biola University, is very cool. I notice something about her that is totaly awesome and I don't even know really what it is. We don't get to talk too much that night about more personal stuff coz we spent most of it bashing on Grant, but I definitely feel as though I need to get to know her a lot better. The thing about this is that I know that I really don't need anything beyond a friendship with anyone right now because where I am with BE and school. This is something from God for sure because I really want to have a girlfriend at the very least to be there and for us comfort each other...Dang the hormones!! Moving along... So with the feelings that I have towards Melinda, I know that they aren't going to go beyond a friendship (coz they can't) at the moment but I know that I have the feelings that make me think that there could be something in the future. Idunno, but this is the first time that I can honestly say that I would not pursue any more than a friendship until there were an appointed time by God. I know that he'd tell me. Besides, after the trip to the Getty, I decide to ask her out to talk and see what happens. I actually pull this off somehow last night (if you've read before, I've had problems with this whole asking girls to a date thing), being Wednesday. Now she asks me if this 'date' is like 'boyfriend-girlfriend' or just going out as friends. She continues that she is waiting for God to lead her to where she is going before she takes steps to find a mate (there's the date to mate thing too...I'm all for that as well). Basically this means to her no casual dating, which is fine by me and actually blessed me when she said it. The whole conversation blessed me last night as she insisted that I must think that she is weird to be waiting and I laughed praised God because that is exactly what I needed to hear even though I just got "shut-down" in the worldy view of things. But all is good with the Lord so we're going to make plans to go out with our friends and get a chance to talk to each other there...like on Sunday. All I can say is: Thank you Lord for that. I'm actually willing to wait if this be it (I kind of went pirate on that...).
I think that that was interesting enough for days of entertainment! I'll work on updating more than once a month...with actual substance, too. Promise. Until then---

20.10.02

YEAH!!! Breakfast Epiphanies does not rock. Until then---

21.9.02

Just so you know, I'm not dead or anything... Just busy, slash not remembering to update, slash just plain lazy....yadda yadda yadda. Any way, I've been told by people to actually update my page. I'd have to agree with those few. After that last update, I was trying to do some changes to the template for this log, but some of the plans fell through, and again I was just lazy, slash forgot, slash busy...
So Breakfast Epiphanies is rockin' the free world (mainly Pralle-Sodaro Hall but what ever). Our new drummer, Brett has been keepin it real and the rest or us (Grant, Christina, and I) have only become more tight (like a tiger... -- Goldmember...). We totally have an audiece now...it's pretty scary but at the smae time, it's what I've been working for for a long time now. Gods plan for me is slowly becoming more and more real every day. That's what I get for never doubting it. I got so hooked up with the situations that I did that there is no way that I could have pulled this stuff off without Him. Breakfast Epiphanies would not exist. Word.
Life around here is wacky as usual. We like to keep it real in the substance-free floor!! I still walk around half naked, and everybody is always in everybody elses business, and all of us are always in trouble for propping doors open (FIRE HAZARD??, what?), and and noises in the hall means that there are heads popping out of every door (we sound nosey, but we actually just join in with the fun). And of course, if you keep up with the real writer in the room, Grant and Aaron, their websites have kept up with the details of our plights. He he, I still swear that when you come to college, you revert back to being a two year-old but with rights, and a little more knowledge. Some people use it, others don't. I think that that's the difference between those that go out and get drunk every night and cause a ruckus but don't remember a thing that happened and those that go out and actually can enjoy causing a ruckus all in good fun. Well being the drunkard...just kidding. Well I'm off to shower and start my day! The rain in Spain falls gently on the plain. Until then---

8.9.02

Finally...! My stupid computer wouldn't let me update my page... I really didn't mean to leave you all hangin', I couldn't get blogger to work on my CPU. Oh well enough of that, I'm back and that's what matters. I'm now two weeks into school, and things are good so far. I may get a chance to tell you all about it later, but for now, I just wanted to tell all that I'm back, and ready for action! Until then---

7.8.02

I'm indisposed... I will be busy, really busy for the next few weeks, so if there's nothing new up here, don't be mad, get glad...er... Until then---

1.8.02

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! As put best by Jim Morrison: "Summer's almost gone." Darn it!! I'm not ready for that yet!! I want people to come back and sure that means that school has to start up too, but really: how many people really want it to? I know that I'm not ready to start the vigorous schedule of classes and soccer, then trying to balance out those with free time (i.e. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, watching Plastic Bag Man in action...)! That whole thing of having to remember to eat and when you can; finding time to sleep; remembering that you actually need to sleep; keeping up with the latest thing that is going on in your room (who cares about other rooms when your own room has the most fun?)... Geez... Then Breakfast Epiphanies, too! I don't know how this will work or how it did at all last semester... Whatever. I know that I want to get my degree just in case I screw something up with what I believe is my calling. That should help keep my focus. Right now I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for school this semester. The way I see it, I'm screwed no matter what happens right now. Until I get my potential job at Lowes (knock on wood), I have no real source of income. My parents aren't going to be able to help me out and I really don't want them to have to; I've got two siblings for them to take care of...in Italy no doubt! Even after that, I won't be able to pay the school with that money... Next, if I choose to drop out for a few semesters, I will have to start paying off loans while paying for a house or apartment that I'll be renting out. Right. About that. Not happening. I need to save as much money as possible for the day that I need to actually get the house that I'm hoping to get soon with Grant, Aaron, and Djay at least...
Well yeah, so this is the last month of not truly being a "wise fool" of college and I'm looking forward to it. Besides the aformentioned stresses (don't I sound educated?), it should be a good year in the "most definitely" category. I really want to get to playing with the band and getting a full-length release out to the public. I honestly hope that everyone (Grant, Christina, and... well Christina) is as pshyched and as ready as I am to get things done as a band. It'll be fun!! Until then---

31.7.02

Wow, what a hit! Well, whoever thought up the idea for answering questions using band lyrics thing is sitting pretty. It's been picked up by other friends and it may just keep going! That'd be cool! Well, I probably wouldn't even know if it kept going or not since I wouldn't know where to look for it beyond my friends' sites but what ever... It would still be cool. I may even try it again with another band... proabably STP. Well that's all for now. Until then---

29.7.02

I thought that this was ingenious! I got this from Christina's live jounal which she in turn got from somebody else but it's a great idea. I think that anyone that listens to a particular group with a lot of regularity should have some sort of relation with the words of the songs that they listen to. It's that simple; we listen to what we can relate to at any given time. Well here's my answers to the same questions...
ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS WITH LYRICS FROM ONLY ONE BAND: (Switchfoot)

1. Are you male or female?: "Evidence convicts the hollow men/ After looking inside/ To my dismay I find I'm one of them/ Coz I'm an already but not yet resurrected fallen man/ Come break this limbo" (I Turn Everything Over)

"When I'm a broken-hearted man/ Complacent and tired" (You Already Take Me There)

2. Describe yourself: "Nothing but a chemical in my head/ Nothing but laziness/ Coz I don't wanna read the book,/ I'll watch the movie/ Coz it's not me,/ I'm just like anybody else my age." (Chem6A)

"Hey, I give it all away/ Nothing I was holdong back remains/ Hey, I give it all away/ Looking for the grace of God today" (Something More (Augustine's Confession))

"There's a song that inside of my soul/ It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again" (Only Hope)

"Monday found me on my knees again/ Breathing You in/ To blur the lines that mark where I begin/ And You end/ There's no use in trying to pretend/ Come take me again/ Coz rumor has it I'm not who I've been/ Come define me/ What can we do/ If the rumors are true?/ I turn everything over/ I turn myself in/ There's nothing left of me to defend" (I Turn Everything Over)

"Coz I've been thinking, thinking/ I've got a plan to lose it all/ I've got a contract pending on eternity/ If I haven't already given it away/ I've got a plan to lose it all" (The Loser)

3. How do people feel about you?: "He's tired of the holes that are keeping him incomplete" (Incomplete)

"I've got the company car/ I'm the one swinging at two below par." (Company Car)

"I've been the burnout kid/ I've been the idiot/ I'll turn the other cheek to be hit you can/ Take what you want from me/ Empty me till I'm depleted/ I'll be around if I'm ever needed" (The Loser)

4. How do you feel about yourself?: "There's always something in the way/ There's always something getting through/ It's not me/ It's You/ Sometimes ignorance rings true/ But hope is not in what I know/ But it's not me/ It's You/ It's all I know/ I find peace when I'm confuzed/ I find hope when I'm let down/ It's not in me/ In You/ I hope to lose myself for good/ I hope to find it in the end/ Not in me/ In You/ It's all I know" (You)

"Wish I had what I needed/ To be on my own/ Coz I feel so defeated/ And I'm feeling alone/ And it all seems so helpless/ And I have no plans/ I'm a plane in the sunset/ With nowhere to land" (Let That Be Enough)

5. Describe your boyfriend/girlfriend/crush: "Everything I know/ Tells me she's everything that I could hope for/ Everything I know /Tells me I can't let her walk away" (Might have Ben Hur)

6. What would you rather be doing?: "I'd like to say hello/ I'd like to I care/ I'd like to let you know/ Nothing here's the same with me/ Nothing here's the same" (Don't Be There)

7. Describe where you live: "Nothing here's the same It's all a dream/ The life on the movie screen/ And I'm standing on the edge of my seat" (Edge of My Seat)

"Everyday it's the same thing/ Another trend has begun/ Hey kids, this might be the one" (New Way to Be Human)

"You can close your ears and your eyes but/ Pop will never leave you alone" (Poparazzi)

8. Describe how you love: "I took the time to find the words/ I hoped she'd feel the same" (Might Have Ben Hur)

9. Share a few words of wisdom: "Doubt you doubts, Believe your beliefs" (Ode to Chin)

I know that this is a lot more extensive than the other persons but I thought that I needed to put all of the lyrics that I did...They fit me like a glove. The next artist I'll do will be Breakfast Epiphanies! Not really...most (almost all) of those songs are already about me. Oh well maybe another day, yet another band. Probably when I'm bored like I am today. I thought I was working this week!! So I made no plans or intetions or anything!! Geez...such a hard life, eh? Right. Until then---

28.7.02

It is finished... At least the core of it is. Of course, I forget to tell you what "it" is. But that's ok I guess. I mean it's not like too many people read this anyway. I'm sure that they won't mind if they don't know what "it" is. You know, it's probably not all that important anyway. Or maybe it is...
Moving on... At the moment, I really have nothing to say. Maybe as the day wears on, I'll become part of that elite club of "interesting" that I am so far from being in I want to cry. Well not really...

about... the crying thing...

as in I'm not really going to cry...

not that I'm not really far from being in the elite club of "intersesting"...

coz that I am really...

far from, that is...

I'm going to cry! Until then---

26.7.02

Oh what?!... I got an interview at Lowes! I actually might get a job after all. I hope that it's simple coz I really don't know too much about all that hardware. Maybe I should have paid more attention to what my father was buying and what it was used for, etc. when we went out to buy stuff for our house. Oh well...I'll learn as I go along. I shouldn't have much of a problem considering that I am applying simply for cashier meaning I'll really just be doing a lot of customer service. I can handle that. At the interview, they kept asking about my past work environment. Through all of those questions, I realized how much I really enjoyed being a Martian. I miss working there...the discounts were great! Really though, the atmosphere was chill, like a musicians store should be. Hmmm....
I'm still thinking that playing on random sidwalks (obviously busy, random sidwalks) to earn money for stuff that Breakfast Epiphanies need would be a good idea. If not now, I could wait a few more weeks and we could all go out and play together...or some of us...what ever. I think that Grant should definitely get an acoustic bass so that we could all play. I imagine that sound...: geez, it's wonderfull. We'd be making money together doing something that we love. That's life right there!!! I mean there's probably a bit more to it than that, but overall that's a simple goal. Maybe not simple, but definitely a good one! I think that if it is on your heart (Personal belief: it's put there by the Holy Spirit) to do something that you may not even think that you're very good at, in my case it would be writing poetry/songs and putting music to them by playing guitar (I think I can write and play somewhat...but that's relative), you should go for it (Personal belief: if you let God take care of the details). Assuming this happened with everone, earth would be a rockin' place to live in. Not everone would be trying to be a CEO, or DR. Dude, or that DIRTY POP singer (*shudder*...pop...). They instead would be heading for things that they truly want to do and accomplish... (Personal belief: and you will be provided with all that you need, i.e. money, if you stay in Christ's teaching and listen to what the Lord says.)
Well I think that I'm going to jump down off of the soap dish now. I didn't mean to type your eyes off here, I was just going to mention "LIVE FROM NEW YORK, ITS SATURDAY NIGHT!!" Kidding... kidding. Dumb, I know... I know. Dorky... that's me! Anyway, the Breakfast Epiphanies site has a movie intro and that's about all I really wanted to say today. OH! and check it out! down below there's this thing asking, "need to comment?" yeah well if you click that then you can! Umm... yeah. Until then---

25.7.02

A morning ponder... Ok, so when I woke up and went to go use the "thinking chair", I was thinking about something that I heard, I can't remember where (not important enough I guess), but it is quite interesting. Just so everyone knows, I'm strongly against this statement, but it is quite a thinker... kind of a fun one for the day! Anyway: "Is sex premarital sex if you're not planning on getting married?" The way I see it, Yeah, but I wonder how many people believe that... That idea can transcend so many planes it's scary. Oh well...just a thought. Until then---

18.7.02

Black again... (I really meant to put black, but it has nothing to do with my skin color or anything... It's the name of an STP song!! Really!! Forget it...) The DSL has been down for a while and this is the first time that I've taken the time out from my busy day to appease my self with... myself. Anyway, job searching sucks! I don't think that its' ever been this hard for me to find a job... EVER!! I really do think that I need to stick with my guns and just go full core into the rock business. Yeah... good ol' rock. The way that they can be smoothed out by water, chiseled by sandy air, or created by liquid magma... just brings me to tears: *weep, cry, weep*. No, but really... for some time now I've been on this GOD-given mission to have a band that will make it. Hence the drive that I have and the money that I oh-so-over-faithfully spend on equippment that I need. But there's the dilemma: Where am I getting this money from? I'm so near to broke I don't know what to do. I can't just go out and play a show without a band... Or maybe I can... Well, ladies and gentlemen, I may have come across something that I can make an attempt at making money. I might try it... soon! I need dough and it seems a feasable attempt. I just need a corner to play at where there is a good amount of people willing to support their local (kind of) band. Well, I'm off to think of a good place. If any of you can think of any good places tell me please! Until then---

8.7.02

Aaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh!!!! I've decided (and so have my finances) that I've really got to go out and get a job. I've never actually had to really look for one though!! I mean I've been really lucky when it comes to finding jobs, they usually fall into my lap. Since Mars Music (actually Marc Begalman, also former president of Office Depot, basically a rich-!$# mofo that just wants to make more money) decided to close the west coast stores in February, I've continued a jobless life. I think that that was my last easy application. WHY?!!!? Oh, WHY?!!!? I hate this!! It's one of those times that I need to grow that money tree that I've talked about since I was little...
So the difficult thing is (as I'm sure you all know) finding a job now that the rush of high schoolers is over. Right. Game over, please try again. The next hurdle: finding a job that you can tolerate for at least three months (any less and there is no way that they can be used to further your job searching capabilities later in life). Drink Sprite, play again. Dang it, Begalman!!!! Stupid rich person!!! They need to get lives. He should pay for my tuition!! That's it!!... I lose...FATALITY. Enough of that. I go out tomorrow to actually really look and hopefully find. "Well I guess this is growing up." (yeah, yeah cheesy...I'm over it). Until then---

Something funny... This one kind of goes out to Aaron: If zombies were made of cheese and you made a movie about zombies and, of course, having to kill them (again) you could call it Cut the Cheese!!! Yeah I'm an idiot, but that was the first thing in my head this morning so I had to share. Until then---
More lyrics... Look, I know that you probably don't want to see song lyrics to songs that you haven't heard, but hopefully you will hear and be delighted that "I," as in you, "was one of the first to know them!!" Aww how sweet but I think that my thoughts are more wrapped up in song and/or poetry, a lot alike in most, if not all, cases. In light of Grant's contest, I've come across lyrics that I wrote about two weeks ago but it semi-relates to some of the stuff being debated...or not. Whatever, here are the lyrics (the song sounds tight!!):
Reality
You're lost inside a dream
You're stuck within a world
You're left to be alone
Exiled in your home
You feel the fall of dark
You're pressed against the floor
You're here beyond a curse

Can you find your reality?
Is it lost in the wind?
Hold on to the Stronghold
It's the end and your begin

You don't know what you stand for
And you don't care to know
You don't know what to believe
It doesn't feed your soul
You feel the fall of dark
You're pressed against the floor
You're blessed beyond a curse
And you don't even know

Can you find your reality?
Is it lost in the wind?
Hold on to the Stronghold
It's the end and your begin

Until then---

Tonight, song lyrics... Preview to a song that I just wrote. I don't have much else to say and I want to say something. So here it is:
Follow
I drive the streets alone
I'm farther from my home
Yet I'm as close as I'll ever be
Cars pass me by
For You I will try
For You I...I'll follow

I'll go where You take me
Lead me from here
Let me away from my pain
I'll follow, I'll follow

I ride along the road
With promises I'm told
But I know this time they're all for me
You take your time
Some say it's a crime
That what they need may have to hurt them

I'll go where you take me
Lead me from here
Let me away from my pain
I'll follow, I'll follow

Until then---

The Breakfast Epiphanies site is up!!!... Mostly. It looks a lot cleaner, etc. so I'm willing to have it shown off. Things work much better too! Tell all!! Breakast Epiphanies.net is here! Until then---
Brasil wins fifth! As a soccer fan and as a soccer player, I could see this being an important day. As someone that lives in the western hemisphere, I could definitely see that game as not being very important seeing how I would have had to stay up way past my bedtime!! But the first thing that I did once I figured out where I was this morning (that is a good and normal thing to do...You don't want to be lost and falling over things, right?) was check on the coverage done by Yahoo. They did a good job of making sure that people could know what was up with World Cup soccer. At least they seemed to have truly cared. I swear, I don't think that I heard anything about the tournament on local (barely national!) news once the US was out of it.
It was even funny, but slightly disturbing, when I was watching the last game of the "Subway Series" during interleague play earlier and the commentators said, "Brasil is like the Yankees of the World Cup." They then went on to figure out who Ronaldo's equivalent would be on the Yankees. Look more power to the Yanks for being as good as they are, but for either of those teams to be compared like that is just wrong somehow. I think that if they are to be compared the Yankees are the Brasil of the MLB, but I still don't think that it's right. Maybe it has a little do to with the fact that I don't like the New York (AL) (excepting Robin Ventura, Why is he there?!?) but I really do respect them since they earned there way to where they are. They are just too good. Whatever...I'm over it but that comment is going to forever be something that I won't like about the ESPN commentator that spoke those words. Oh well, what can you do? Congratulations to Brasil, and to the rest of the world: Maybe in four... Until then---

Time to be more frequent. Life gives some tough choices. Like right now, I could be sleeping but instead I'm here typing at his infernal CPU (I actually like this thing too much) trying to think of something that I really want to get out in the open...At least to myself. I don't know why, but before I left dropping off my girlfriend at her apartment, I was definitely planning to sleep immediately(?). Well that didn't happen obviously and here I am, rambling away.
Now, in all honesty I know that I don't have anything of interest to say to anyone almost ever. This weblog is definitely no exception. When I started this, I'd planned to learn some web design stuff, which I did but it has almost become too much of a hobby especially since I can't do it well enough to get paid to design stuff for anyone else, but I mostly wanted to keep my friends and family up with what I'm up too and what's going through my mind. By now I'm quite sure that I am one of one person that reads this, but that's ok coz I'm boring anyway. My updates have always been paled by my dorm roommates, Grant and Aaron's, weblogs updates because of their uncanny ability to write well. The one thing that I at least think I'm good at when it comes to liturature, poetry, still doesn't spark interst in those that that would read any of our sites. And when I don't have an audience, I, as the entertainer, lost interest and stopped regularly updating. Sux? Ubetchagolly it does! I've foudn though that this is a good outlet for anything that I want out there so I've decided to keep this going for a long as I have and I hope to continue to update this for as long as I can. Maybe with some changes, and a little growing up (not too much, I still am working at being a pro guitarist in Breakfast Epiphanies so I've still got to dream...), I'll be able to write these weblogs with regularity and style that is interesting to the oblivious reader. We'll see what happens. Until then---

25.6.02

2+2=3. Yeah that's what a Christian relationship should look like. Simple math really. Figure it out and get it back to me ASAP. Until then---

18.6.02

Why???!!? I'm so feaking tired, I'm seeing things. I'm going to sleep now. Until then---
Vacation is now over...! Well I'm back from Ohio and, no, I didn't get to update while I was there. That's quite obvious really... Well I'd like to say that the east coast is an adventure. These last two weeks were the second time that I've been out past Arizona and only my second round-trip flight (and I haven't done any one-way...). It was good times though.
One word of advice for anyone planning to go to Florida (the road-trip from Cleveland that Faye and I made...good times...): DON'T. It's just hot and muggy down there all of the time. Sure, the whole road trip down there I was thinking about Home Alone 2 when the family is totally rained in while in Miami, but I wasn't planning on duplicating the movie! The only cool thing that I can say about fatty storms is that you can actually watch them roll in. Let me just say that from the 20th floor in a hotel it looked like a wall of water like out of a movie just ingulfing buildings. FAT RAIN! FAT FAT FAT FAT RAIN!! I don't believe that we can get that sort of rain here in California, unless Grant can prove me wrong... Do the storms get like that in Northern Cali? I don't know...and I don't plan on staying up there long enough to find out! A lot of the people up there truly scare me... it's like the east coast on the west coz a lot of the people on the east scared me, too. That reminds me, the road trip was near traumatizing(?)(what the heezy?) due to us having to go through all of thos southern states. I was honestly scared to get pulled over for being black. I know that it happens so I am very weary of it. What makes it more scary is that Faye is white so I could get into more trouble somehow. Don't ask me how the system works...I know that there are a lot of racists down there although I couldn't pick one out just driving by, but knowledge that has been passed to me is to just be careful and being careful makes me shiver. The unsteady hand prevails...! Well of to foreign dreams of Argentina, their World Cup victory, and the llamas on the west side. Until then---

31.5.02

Here I am again... Well I'm here once again trying to keep myself up to date on everything, and, of course, you guys too. I just want to let you guys knwo that I've not left this page entirely, this weblog has just been on sabatical? taken a leave of absence? just not updated? Oh...that last one wasn't supposed to be a question. Well I'm gone to Meet the Parents in Ohio, woot! I'll come back to this but enjoy the main portions of my site fromCamel in an Eye, my home page. Well I'm off...and I'll be back with you when I am....maybe even on the trip? Until then---

3.5.02

So I'm up late... I haven't updated in almost a month...so this is kind of weird. I know that not many if any people actually read this so I'm sure that it's not that big of a deal. I'm doing this now coz I just took a two-four hour nap until about an hour ago, I'm really not sure ho long it was, it's pretty much a blur. I just know that I was really tired and I needed sleep. As much as I hate it, and it wasting my time, I know that I do need it and acknowledge when my body is hating on me for not sleeping enough. Grrrr...there I go on my sleep rant-page again...
So I've changed around my site a bit. My home page is now the Fun Forum, I will be putting in an about me (Me, Myself, and I) section that will include pictures and stuff. I still have my quotes and my poetry pages and those have been updated throughout the time that I've had them up. Of course I will update this when I get the chance, which may be a little more frequent since summer is coming rather quickly and I know that you all (me being optimistic once again, coz really, "Are there any?") really care about me and will read up on my thoughts and rants and raves and life in general. Sure...there I go again...
The way that the band, Breakfast Epiphanies, is coming along is quite good. I god my acoustic track down for our demo that will be released on the 17 of this month in honor of the release of Star Wars: Episode Two. Not really, there's an even better reason: we get kicked out of the dorms on that day...well the last day that we each have finals. So I get to stay until that Friday putting the finishing touches into the mixing and have it ready to be sold on the street for 1$...per song. Hey you ususally pay more for someone that you may not like every song from. I guarantee that you will or will not enjoy the purchase but you will or will not hate us for it either! What a deal!!! That's the only pitch that I can give you right know since we haven't laid down any other track besides my solo acoustic one, but we definitely have the potential to do well in the studio and live. High energy, baby!!
Now it's back to beddy bye. Until then---

Been hangin' around... Or doing a lot more than that. I've been mostly busy with school work more than anything else this past week. I have a test today that will determine whether I pass a class or not. I hate those tests but I put it on myself. I didn't try at all on the first test we had and although it was only worth 50 points (compared to the other tests being worth 70) I got only 18... I was hoping at least for 25 coz I knew that I didn't know the stuff. It's all Greek to me... Actually Latin and Italian but who really cares...? It was even more horrible because not on;y did I not elaborate enough on any of the answers, I mixed up people and what they were known for...like, by over hundreds of years. Oooops. That's what I said! I just wonder why the brain does that. I knew a lot of the stuff that I got wrong on the test and actually quite thoroughly before and after I was taking the test. Let's just say I still know a little of that stuff and it's been two months since...
My brain is weird. Usually, I don't do that bad on tests...I'm usually one of those test-takers everyone hates because I don't freak out about them (I still don't) and I study the least amount possible but I always get a 'B' or better. Th nice thing about this test today is that I already had some sort of backgound in this. It makes it a lot easier but I still have to remember names and what not. I can't even remember the person's name I met yesterday and have been hanging out with ever since!! I wish I was exagerating... I can't expect my brain to remember dead people and what they've done. Besides why do they care if I give credit to somone else on accident? They're dead and so is the other guy! Oh well...Of to start another day. Until then---

2.4.02

Spring Break happened...I swear! Well back in school agian and loveing it as usual...in the NOT category. It's nice to have my roomies back and to have had the break, but at the cost of going back to classes after one week? At least give us enough time to get tired of being on break! Honestly I believe that it's much too short for no reason...ok maybe there's a reason but it's not feasable enough for me. I've probably always had this problem with the shortness of the break but could never put my finger or toe or tounge? on it.
Anyway, I should be reading up on "A Dolls House" for English class tomorrow at 8 AM, and finishing a project that was due the thursday before break buyt instead I'm up looking for a Super Nintendo and a Nintendo emulator for my computer. I've gotten that pathetic. I know that there are mutiple reason why I don't need to do this but I've pretty much had my heart set on these since I've had my own CPU and now I know where to get them from. C'est la vie. Je suis tres sommeil mais je suis faire ecrire a demain. Enough of that...promise more later. Until then---

21.3.02

Been a couple... I'd like to apologize to you out there that actually read my site on a regular basis. I suck. I don't update oftenn enough to entertain you. I apologize. I'm sure that I couldn't even be interesting to the people that are so bored that they begin to look at all of the most recently updated blogs. I've partaken in this "bored bloggist ritual" and have come across a couple of good blogs. One of which I've gotten in contact with the person updating it and have become pen pals? I know for sure that that can't be right....I don't use a pen when I write her... Oh well. I don't know whyy it's seems a lot cooler to write to someone that you don't know at all. Sure, I can see it's benefits: you don't have to be who you really are, you can start anew with this person. But in truth, at least for me, I know that I've never really wanted to start over with someone, and I'm not trying to mess with this person at all. Just an honest email and comment relationship. It's cool. I have nothing to hide but it's not like we're talking about that type of stuff... That I keep for my girlfriend (he he...It's weird to say that... Our realtionship has gone untitled by us for a week). I just find it interesting that I can keep in contact with someone that I don't know at all except from what they want to tell me when I've got some life-long friends that I have problems keeping in touch with. I'm sure we all have this sort of deal in some way or another but I find it very weord of myself coz I really don't even like writing emails, but for some odd reason I will do it to keep contact with this one person that I don't even know. Harsh reality. Yup, that's what it is. Well, the pigs have flown the coop. Must go hunt some beef. Mmmm... Until then---

18.3.02

Weekend Update... I promise that it'll be at least up to par with Norm MacDonald. It basically started with Aaron, my roommate, dumping his morning/afternoon smoothie atop his own head. That sums up how great the weekend went! Later that day, being Saturday, we (Christina, Paul, Aaron, and I) all felt the urge to go out and actually do something for a change. This was amazing considering that we rarely all hang out anymore due to odd schedules. It was even more odd because our secret agent of a roommate, Grant, was actually in town for the weekend and even came back from wherever he was before we decided when and where we were going. Ahh...decisions. Not really any tough decisions because there really isn't too much to do here in O.C. At least if you're under 21 and are in center to north county (us exactly). So our compete party for the evening: Me, Aaron, Grant, Christina, Paul, and a new member and quite very special person in my life, Faye. Let's just say that the new mini-tape recorder that I got definitely has served it's ultimate purpose in that one day. Lots of funny things happened and we all lost many calories just laughing at things all night long. And the next day. And probably today...
Well, more juicy things next time. Stuff with true meaning not just my daily life....coz I don't even want to hear about that... Until then---

15.3.02

Goodness! I do believe that I've been quite broken. Awesome experience that I've never encountered. I can't explain it at all.... But I am soooooo excited about it.
Things are obviously well over here, how about you? For only $2.95 you can... I don't really know what I'm offering. Or how I'd get all of your money for it but that was almost good. I could have gotten rich. Right. It's odd how a good mood can make you act almost an entirely different way towards people. I am not usually one to hide my emotions too well, but I also don't do too much in the "mood swing" category. I've never really observed myself before. This is just as cool as people watching...except it's just one person and that one person is me and it's really nothing like people watching...
I finally got the time that I will be on the radio here at Chapman and conveniently online. It's going to be awesome. I've always wanted to be on the radio and now I get to do it and get college humanity credit for it! Oh yeah!! So I'm going to be on at the wee hours of Monday morn: 12:00 to 2:00... AM. Yeah, I going to be praying that I don't mess up as it is with out the tired factor being in there. Egads (I actually said this today!), it's going to be a little tough but it's all good. I'm up for it. Well speaking of up... he he, of course it's time for... yeah... yeah... the dreaded sleep. It ahunts me and causes me to sepell wrong thigns. This is me with out going back to chevk my writuing. I guess not too bas but still... I wouldn't want you as confused as i always am. I'm going now to help the Oompa-loompas sing their jolly tune. Dumpa-dee-doo! Until then---

13.3.02

Tired? I am so exhausted! I'll just say that soccer hurts when you haven't done it in a while. Other than the pain in my hips, and bruises elsewhere (I even have one on my thumb... Unfortunately, I think that it's from playing video games though, esp. TH3... I hope not though...), the day went rather well once again. Maybe even better than the last entry, especially because I didn't get locked out of my room. Anyway, I got to share my testimony (for those who don't know what that means, for a Christian it's just the story of how their faith came to be... Usually telling a lot about their life) last night at Refuge (Chapman's Christian "Club"[I like Family better!]). I've only told that to a couple of people... Ever. And I shared with twenty people last night! Wow. That's a large jump from two to twenty. He he... that's fun to say really fast... two to twenty; two to twenty...
Well I don't have much else to say tonight. Nothing stupid or oddly querky (is that a word?) to philosophize. Things are good though; Quite well really; Ca va bein. I'm off my rocker once again. To the dreaded Sleep! Until then---

10.3.02

We'll say: "Good day..." For all intents and purposes, yesterday went well. The only major hitches were that I didn't ever make it to Circuit City so that I could get a mini tape recorder (to be later explained) and this came across because for the majority of the day I was locked out of my room. Sux? Heck yeah! But that's totally ok coz I got to spend quality time with our favorite person and fellow guitarist in Breakfast Epiphanies, Christina! We spent time working on the new website and I was busy coming up with random riffs that I was trying to remember lyrics for. Unfortunatly, I hadn't memorized ANY of the songs that I'd written that needed music so then was the quick realization that I didn't have the key to get back into my room. Horrible... I was distraught. This made things tough for me especially since I can't remember how I want things to go if I don't write them down or make record of them in some other way. Hence the need for the mini-recorder! I have a problem remembering the rhythms of the riffs I come up with so this would enable me to quickly be refreshed. But, of course, I never made it to the store. Sux? That's twice-fold!
I'm sure that I'm not making this day sound well-off but honestly thrugh all of that, we got a good start on the official Breakfast Epiphanies site and I ended up geting two new songs finished...mostly. That's an accomplishment by all means! Be proud! I am...
Well the infernal neccesity disguised as "sleep" is calling my name... "edward.... edward..." It's so mean that it won't even capitalize my name! Oh well, maybe that's just how I heard it...I should have been able to record it! Oh well... more insight later. Leave me one! Until then---

9.3.02

I believe Aaron will say it best... Aaron and I had a conversation today about blogs, this wonderful diary-type set up that has gotten me hooked on webdesign and the like. We have been visiting some random blog recently and have come to notice one thing for sure: all of the people with something to say all come off as unhappy, or at least have something traumatic going on in their life. He thought that that is why our blogs don't get updated nearly as much as they should be and why they aren't as interesting as others (this definitely meaning mine, at least when I say it). I just guess we're too happy-go-lucky and the like. The world is a peach, got to go eat it all up...Fuzz and all. Mmmmm...
Well I know that I've tried having normal diaries and they never really worked for me. All I do is write poetry and songs... Not great literature for web reading alone. So I've got that in a separate section while this home page lives on. I'm not sure why but I like being able to use this as some sort of outlet but I don't know what I'm ever really trying to say and all that sort of thing. We've got this band thing going on here and that takes up a lot of my time that I don't spend pretending to do my homework that consists of music theory and essays. It makes this sort of a thing I do on the back-burner of my time, but I don't want it to be that. If it becomes that entirely, my site will go to hell. And there will be NO coming back. It sucks for me coz I don't know what to say... well mainly I don't how to say it... in full sentences. It's even harder when I read other random and not so random sites that are so well written, it makes me feel so crappy about my own while at the same time allowing me to realize what I could do with this web space. Hmmm... The Final Frontier.
The other thing is: I know that i want others to read this site, from random people to my closest friends but there is like a total of 4 people reading this!! And that is an over-estimate I'm sure. But should I care that much? Idunno? Well I know that I'd like people to know what goes through this odd little mind of mine. I also know that it's nice to get at least some of it out using an almost proper-like format. I don't know... Well I do know that my guestbook is obsolete; no one uses it and I'm tired of checking it for the 4 people that might sign it. I't may be gone within the next two-three weeks...I'll be pondering. No Pinky. Try to take over the world... Until then---

6.3.02

Update? For those of you out there still reading, none I'm sure, here's a quick update. I've decided that stupidity prevails. That's the bottom line. The human races demise wiil come due to the obvious capability of us people to not wasnt to do any better than we absolutely have to to get by. I admit that I fall into this category as well, so this is the ultimate generalization including any and everyone. There are different reasons for each of our stupidities but the simple stuff is what will kill us all. Example: A simple complaint to a suite-mate (aka "Not-so-sweet-mate") about a simple thing, unlocking the bathroom door for everyones usage in our suite (not just half of it), can turn into a half hour arguement. Don't ask too many questions, I found it stupid while I was arguing with him, but more for the reason of why should it be that big of a deal to unlock the bathroom door when you're finished with it? It's simple! I had the problem with remembering it, although I always would, so I juist stopped locking it. Simple? Yeah. And so is knocking so that there are no run-ins. Maybe that's his other problem: he doesn't like to knock...at all. He barges into places a lot. That could help if he would have the inclination NOT to do that.
Another example is of me. Unfortunately, there are too many stupid things I do to list them here. I don't know if the web data base could hold all of it! But I know that these simple things that I could have fixed are what is holdong me back from being who I truly want to be. It's a tough thing to see yourself turn into something that you never expected when you actually caused it. I've learned that I need to let go, I'm not in control, but I still want the reigns. I'm sure that is definitely one quality that is common throughout many of us. It's just harder when you know that what you believe calls for handing the control over. I try not to live the hedonistic life but there are so many things out there that almost seem to call for that. The hardest part is when I'm not sure what is supposed to be going on with me and I feel as though I may have chosen incorrectly. At that point I feel the need to do what's best for me. I don't know how right that is, or how wrong, but it leads to confusion for me.
Well, this entry started coz I needed to go to the restroom and I'm locked out of it. So I'm going to break down the door. Right. Until then---

3.3.02

My gosh!!! I've been spending the past few days working on finding a new home for the Fun Forum and potential other pages, mainly for Breakfast Epiphanies. It's tough when you suddenly find out that if you want to keep your current URL (nerd talk for "web site directory") you have to pay. Oh what!?! Yeah, that's what I said! So everything has been switched over to a better place anyway, so HA HA GEOCITIES!!!! I laugh at your face, if... I.. can.. do... that. Now I have some catching up to do on normal life, wait this is my normal life. Sad. I'll pretend that I have a life other than this for about an hour when I'm off playing soccer or video games. I'm sure that you guys thought I meant homework...HA!! That was a one time occurance; I swear it will never happen again. While I'm not on the topic, sign my guestbook! It's not there for looks! and if it was, that's sad coz it's an eyesore! it's an eyesore to get your attention! it needs your attention to get signed! So, for it's sake, make it seem as though it has a purpose. Don't you feel sad now...tell me about it. Litereally! Until then---

26.2.02

I actually spent some time working on an essay! Those of you that know me pretty well know that I'm not really one to do homework. So as proof of me doing it, you get to read it! Here it is:
Is Everything P.C.?
“-There was once a poor girl, as beautiful as she was good, who lived with her wicked stepmother in a house in the suburbs.
- That’s better. But I have to seriously query this word poor.
- But she was poor!
- Poor is relative. She lived in a house, didn’t she?
- Yes.
- Then socioeconomically speaking, she was not poor (Mararet Atwood, lns. 3-8).”
The short work that this excerpt comes from, “There Was Once,” could even be considered an essay on how political correctness has ruined our society, especially in the arts. It came at a time when being “P.C.” was necessary if one did not want to get sued for their life. It became a poor excuse for being tactful. Everyone was so afraid of offending another person that a lot of conversation and debate was watered down, sometimes enough to entirely lose its meaning. The point is being politically correct has stifled artistic creativity, created tension between beliefs/traditions/races, and has even made it difficult to hold a simple conversation with anyone on the street.
“- I wasn’t making fun! I was just describing –
- Skip the description. Description oppresses. But you can say what color she was.
- What color?
- You know. Black, white, red, brown, yellow. Those are the choices. And I’m telling you right now, I’ve had enough of white. Dominant culture this, dominant culture that — (Atwood, lns. 15-18).”
Tension between faiths, traditions, and race has been impossible to avoid since being politically correct became a way of life. Even a conversation about how well one is doing in the workplace could be a very difficult for a manager, boss, or overseer. When one has to watch what they say, not because they want to be polite but because they do not want to get sued, or lose their position, it makes for a very unfulfilling environment. Things become unable to get done as quickly or efficiently as it would have been with no underlying need to be politically correct.
This fear of not being P.C. also leads to watered down conversations; meaning that things spoken during these conversations will have a tendency to lose their significance or implications. These have the people speaking with each other saying “African-American” when they mean “Black” or “Caucasian” when they mean “White.” Sure, in some cases this conversation may have nothing wrong in the context of the person being spoken of, but if that said person being spoken about or spoken to is not an American from Africa, they are not African-American. They should, if talking of nationality, definitely be considered as an American, as that is what they would truly be. Another example of this watered down concept would be in the context of faith or religion. A lot of religious leaders have fallen into the trap of “we have to be politically correct” and have sacrificed their faith’s doctrines because of it. When a Christian tells a Satanist that “it is ok that you believe that Satan is god,” that God loves them, and that they can believe what they want because God will take them as they are, they are in fact compromising the one fact that there is only one God and that in order for them to be taken by Him, one must believe that he is the One and Only God. This sort of negotiation has made many things become quite skewed from their true meanings and has caused more controversy than there should ever have been concerning racial differences or religion.
Being tact is a very important part to learning how to properly converse with anyone one the street. There may be topics that are avoided when talking to someone that is wearing a suit in comparison to talking to a homeless person. Why is this? Why is it assumed that a homeless person (notice not bum, or hobo) would not want to talk about certain things? Is it incorrect to ask someone what happened to them? How did they get to this state of happiness or this state of discontent? “- Skip the description. Description oppresses (Atwood, ln. 16).” There is no reason why anyone person should be talked to any differently because they look differently than someone else. It seems that this has gotten into some civil rights-type issues, and in a way it has. The issue of being tactful is much different from being P.C. In tactfulness, you are putting things in the best context possible, not diluting the content at all. Being P.C. has unfortunately quickly become a way of being tactful by replacing that complete content with a conversation, debate, etc. with blank spots as to not hurt any ones feelings.
“-There —
- So?
- So, what?
- So, why not here? (Atwood, lns. 39-42)”
Political correctness is a political ploy to please everyone. With it instated, you hear no true opinion due to fear of hurting anyone. Honestly, if anyone is that worried about being hurt or about hurting another, why talk at all? There is a reason why each individual in the human race can think for themselves. They all need to take advantage of it by knowing when to take an opinion for what it is and know that a chosen form of expression is expression is exactly that: chosen by the one expressing it. So in art, in faith, and in conversation one must remember their beliefs and be cognizant of others, knowing that their expression will be different than their own.

Well, that's what I spent hours on. Those are pretty much my thoughts on the night. I know that most of it is BS but hey, it'll work for a paper. Tell me what you think...please? I kinda want to know before I get a verdict back from my instructor with all the grammar corrections, etc. I know it's gonna suck, so if I hear it from my friends it'll make it easier! Well that is all for today. Until then---

A penny for my thoughts... "Well today is tomorrow, and tomorrow is today. And yesterday is breathing in and out..." - Cake. I found that appropiate, too. It seems to fit yesterday and the feeling for today. Interesting as the past day has been, I will not share it with you. Ha! You get to miss out on what I spend my life not doing: LIFE. When all you do is sit around with the full intention to do something that may actually be important and never do it, there is something wrong. I know I told some people that yesterday was a lazy day but this type of thing is inexcusable. I'm running low on motivation for many things. Doing homework is a very trivial act for me and this even includes guitar. I know that it needs to get done and all of that, but why? Actually, I know that answer but why not do it then? There really is nothing better to do here...that's part of the big plus in coming to this school. I know that I have the time to do it even. But I lack the motive for the dirty work. Sux...
Well I totally drew a blank on what I was thinking about writing here so I'm not going to bore you with any more useless drabble. I promise to be more interesting next time. Give me my motivation! Until then---

I saw Switchfoot!!! I came back a few hours ago from a great concert experience. Sure, the headlining band, Switchfoot, I've seen three times before, but the time spent getting there, the openers, and the full live experience was awesome!! I'll tell more about it later...I've been exahusted yesterday. So tired...need rest... Until then---

So ends a uneventful weekend... Well now that we, (Grant, Aaron, and I) are finished watching our weekly ritual of Adult Swim (Cartoon Network, Sundays/Thurdays @ 10 PM), it is time for an update on the weekend. First off, that test that I took was totally bombed by most of the people in the class. The teacher was right about it being hard. The thing that sucked about it was that I know that I know the material. I was the matter of recollection. I've some to be pretty bad at doing that recently. Remembering stuff sucks!! It's always worse when you know that you've got it stuck in your memory but just can't find it. Grrrrrr!! It's so frustrating...
On Saturday, I was pretty much confined to the campus due to a master class I HAD to attend and a concert that I also HAD to attend for my guitar class. Talked about making the day suck!! I say this not as an insult to the performer, Stanley Yates, or anything but being forced to do something just isn't my thing. I probably would have wanted to go to each of these things (at least the concert) more if I didn't HAVE to go. Having a set schedule on a Saturday sucks...
Now that that is all out it's time to get that wonderfull thing called "rest" that we all love so much. I still think that we would be better off if we did need it but we do and that is all I can say about that. Check out the rest of my site and tell me what you think in my guestbook below. I got to spend some quality time working on it this weekend inbetween my stupid schedule. And with that, I bid thee farewell. Until then---

15.2.02

Not much today! Well, I think I don't have much to say tonight...Just going to sleep now...test tomorrow...set up to fail it...sux...professor said so...so I sleep in hopes of recollecting all that I need for the day...Until then---

Oh such exhaustion!! I can only imagine that this is what it feels like to be a film major. Only the whole being tired thing though. I couldn't handle having to actually work when I'm this tired. I give mad props out to all of the film majors out there who have ever had to deal with that...basically, that would be all of them.
Well, I'm just going to do a quick recap of today: Wake up at 7:30 for English class at 8 (this is the AM). Then, Music Theory at 9:30. Quick break at 10:20 (break only in the sense that I wasn't in class), but back to class at 11. A stupid class at that! Now lunch...Yay, lunch. It was a bad day for good food in our much wavering cafeteria. This is only true because I have soccer workout with coach and I didn't know that it would put me on the verge of being sick (vomiting, tossing your cookies, barfing, upchucking, blowing chunks, etc.). After that hour in a room that was too hot to be working out in when I haven't worked out in over two months and the last time I even stretched was when I was snoboarding (meaning cold weather activities, the whole time!!), I went back to my room and sat on my duff playing Tony Hawk 3 (since I couldn't get the first Tony Hawk to work). Then dinner, 5; then Refuge, 7; then radio, 10. I was had deemed myself tired while playing TH3 so the rest of the evening was just dandy and very upbeat...in the NOT category. Well, that concludes this evenings topic coz I don't want to talk about sleep again, and how much I hate it. Until then---

What a day! A bit confusing, and a little exciting...well that wasn't really yesterday, but now that I've got your attention... Things are a little strange around here right now. Yet another corporate-created holiday is just around the corner: Valentines Day. Oh, whoopie!! let's jump for joy... Anyway, I haven't really celebrated the holiday for at least two years and one of those, for sure, was when I had a girlfriend. Odd? Maybe, but the day of Saint Valentine has been so blown out of proportion that it really is just calling out to me to be boycotted. I mean really... If you are in a relationship and you need a holiday to do something special for your significant other, that is really sad and you really should be with anyone coz noone deserves that. This isn't meant to be an "I'm pissed of at the stupid lovey-dovey feel of the month" entry but wanna-be's suck!! If the love isn't really there, a corporate holiday isn't going to change it, it will just hide it. That, I'm sure, is a very fun fufilled game, too: Hide your heart and go love. Pretty good for 1:30 in the morning, eh?
Well the reason why the topic of Feb. 14 came up is the way that I've been observing everyone around here (at Chapman), on TV, and myself. I've found that we all have become compulsive toward so many things. Some of us are in our relationships and engulfed in them. Some are in relationships and disregard the commercialistic holiday and find ways to avoid even talking about it. Some, like me, are having trouble with the other sex as it is and are hating the stupid capitalists that created the holiday beacuse it places an invisible pressure force around you to be in love or something like that. Some hide in shells avoiding the topic of relationships entirely but are sacraficing their strictly-plutonic realations is some way or another. I think that if you are truly in love with someone or just like them a bit more than the rest, there should be no pressure on anyone but to tell them how you feel. No gifts, just that good ol' lovin' feelin' (no I'm not dirt poor, nor dirt cheap either). I think that's something that we've lost as a society. Material things are what we "need" to show our affection towards each other. Sure they're nice once in a while, but it should not take a holiday (I shouldn't use that word for it...we don't get the day off or anything!) to show appreciation, love, or pure humbleness.
That is the end of my soap box speech...I stand down to the rest of the world that doesn't care. Until then---

8.2.02

Again, it's the begining... Yesterday was definitely an interesting one. The past few hours I have been helping out a very cute girl with her homework. The more interesting thing is that it was an English essay...I'm horrible at English as I'm sure I have said before!! I can't write at all but they (her and her roommate) both seemed to like what I did with the paper. Hey, whatever it takes. Did I mention she's cute?
Yesterday I found a lot of time to try and work on updating my other parts of my page like the new site for my potential band. If you go there I know that it says that we are pretty far along, but honestly lets just say that Fistful of Putty was my idea for a name just to make the page seem interesting (sign the guestbook and tall me what you think!). We don't know where this is going yet. Our potential drummer is willing to play but doesn't have a set to play on; slight problem...Yes! So as of right now that is a project besides me and Christinas playing at the Ugly Mug, a great little coffee shop that gives off that cultured feel (as mentioned on Aaron's page). Hopefully, we can do that soon and find out how we soud to other people besides our close friends. Those people are way too nice... After either one of those two happenings, maybe even before (I'm so decisive!) we will probably start some basic recording so that we can create samples for your enjoyment online and demos to sell and make some money. Mmmmm...money. Something that I'm starting to lack. Remember way back when I got my job at Mars Music? (If you don't, check out my archives!) Well, that job has been eighty-sixed. We're going out of business! It's the greatest thing...in the NOT category. It sucks even more because I enjoyed the job a lot. So now I'm in the job hunt once again and hating every moment of it. It's worse coz my main form of transportation, my bug, is down for the count. Right before winter break, the engine froze on me. Sux. But I'm finding that Grant's bike is a great mode of transportation....good, but I can't go nearly as far...bad. Oh well. Adjusting is all part of life. Life is just one big adjustment. Oh and it's so fun, too!! So many people to at least try to either get along with or piss of entirely; it makes for something that is incomparable to anything else. Life is great, isn't it?!?
Now on to another day. I have a quiz in theory (or in theory, I have a quiz). It'll be joyous fun so I don't want to fall asleep during it. I'm to the cows as birds are to monkeys. What was that!!?? Until then---

7.2.02

Short and sweet...hopefully sweet. It's been a long day and I've been left very worn down and tired at this hour. It doesn't help that I've had to read three short stories and the begining of another book that I have to read. I've come to the definite realization that I am taking two English classes. Although they are not named the same thing, nor do they have the same course description but they do have the same format once you're in there. The worst part about it is that I really am not very good at English...you know, the whole writing thing is bad (as I'm sure you can tell by my reamblings here...this is how I write!) but the worst part is having to pay attetion for a total of two and a half hours on the same subject matter. I think that I am going to have to do something about this...I don't know what though...I can't think that fast right now...Stupid need for sleep. Well, I'm off to read "One Hundred Years of Solitude." Great book, if you haven't read it I highly suggest it. Time for sweet lullabies, and dreams of candied corn fields. Until then---

5.2.02

I'm Back!!!! For those of you out there that actually care about my life and the happenings here in the wonderful place of Orange County, I'm back to my much more consistant updatings. The first week of Spring semester has been alright in my opinion because I could get my site back up and running a lot faster than I thought that I would be. Free afternoons are GREAT!!...
Well now I am a semester older and I've still not grown up. I know that responsibility (What's That??) is a integral part of life as a college student but there are somethings that just get in the way. That's right, I'm talking about sleeping and eating again. Two essentials that I find very stupid. I wish I didn't have to eat...It's so time consuming. Same with sleeping...They are so over-rated. Sure, you may think that it helps you out but in all actuality it's just eating your life away. Take my roomate Grant for instance, who at this moment (1:00 am and still going) is out getting work done: editing. Ahh...The man doens't sleep enough according to books but he is an example to us all. Sure he may look like the most worn out, run-down, dirty (not really but it fit) college student (there's the real downfall) that I've seen but if all of us worked as hard as he did, we wouldn't have to worry about trivial conversation coz we'd be too tired to care. Great plan, huh!?... Right...
Well I think that I finally may be getting a chance to get somewhere with my music. My roomates and I are plotting to put together a group. It'll be great coz I'll have at least one person, Christina, that I can talk about some hardcore musician stuff. That'll be new!! I've definitely had some musical idiots in bands before...(Disclaimer: I'm not only really talking about with guitars and stuff though so I apologize to any of the true musicians (you know who you are) that I've played with that could possibly be reading this.) To find out more about us and the whole band thing, you'll just have to wait. My new part of the site with the stupid ad on the side will be partially devoted to the band, it's happenings, and it's non-happenings, it's music, and the like. Hopefully, enough people will listen and like it that we can get somewhere and make a better site for us all...
I hope that this is a sufficient update for now. I don't know how much more I can write tonight. I've been on my CPU for too long the past couple of days working on this site, esp. the new part. And besides that, i've got to go and betray my beliefs. Sleep is calling me...eight o'clock is too early for a class...I HATE having to sleep!!...I'll keep you posted on any further hipocricy (he he, I like that word). Until then---

15.11.01

My CPU is STUPID!!! Sorry for the lack of updates...My CPU is crashing on me leaving me bored and rather unsettled. It's amazing how relient I am on my CPU to get me though the day...whether it be by conversation with friends via "The IM Machine", or just playing music...my music or not. This sucks but in the midst of it all, I got a date last night with the origional girl that I talked about months ago. Amazing...yeah but no. A soon to be epic story that I'll probably be elaborating on more as the plot thickens...hopefully. I'll be back on and, once again, updating every couple of days as soon as possible so please continue to check up on this page about once every few days to see if my CPU has decided to submit to my demands. Until then---

10.11.01

Man! I'm feeling like crap! Sleep is becoming my best friend. I feel kind of sick so I'm trying to sleep as much as possible and eat soup and ice cream. I tell you: taking an Advil while eating soup then eating ice cream will get rid of any headache that you may incounter. It was an amazing discovery! I now know that I can survive the minor infractions that my body inflicts upon me. Yay! The life of a college student...
Ok so at work on Thursday, I got to sell a harmonica to a guy that had just gotten out of jail. Crazy character, but one of the most genuinely excitful, happy people that I've met in a long time. He was a great artist, too. He showed me his tattoos that he had drawn for the tattooer (I really don't know what to call the guy that was copying the picture) and they were awesome! I told him so and and this is how I found out that he'd just gotten out: "Yeah! You've got to find something to do when you're in the can!" The statment makes perfect sense and I'm glad that he did that instead of the list of other thing that he could have been doing...
I went to the beach for the second time since I've been to college last night and I am very bothered by the fact that beaches in Orange County close at 10 o'clock PM! I don't understand the concept of a beach closing. In San Diego County, the beaches are open all the time which makes sense. How can you close a beach? It's public property! There is actually a sign that says Beach Hours: 6:00AM - 10:00PM unless fishing 10:00PM - 6:00AM! I can't believe that. Especially the fact that no one has rebelled against the system on this one! I think that I'm planning on it right now! I am the WAR MONGER looking for justice of beach usage! Until then---

8.11.01

This computer almost had me going AWOL! I don't care whether I used AWOL in the right context (sorry Aaron!) but you know what I mean!...I almost could not update at all today! I am angry!! Grrrrr! Ok, my weak little-boy tantrum is over. I'll call my "Whaaaaambulance"...1-800 WHAAAAH.
Well, news on my new adventurous expedition...Taken. My adventure is over...not really failed or anything but I found that I was going for something that had already been . Ok...This analogy is getting hard to use... SHE HAS A BOYFRIEND!! Dang it..I quit!! I don't think that I will be adventuring anytime soon so no more stories about that for some time. Geez, I suck...going for a girl that is taken...what's that? Anyway, about that whaaaambulance...
I don't think that some things were meant to be and if forced, they are definitely not going to be something that are going to truly be enjoyed by either party. This applies to many things other than boy-girl relationships (and I'm NOT speaking of the people that claim gay at all here). We should all find what we need (I believe through GOD but I'm not preaching) and live only to serve the purpose or purposes that we were placed here for. The rest will fall into place without worry. Not being anxious is probably the most difficult thing for someone that has been told of great things for them or close ones. It must be left to be lived...It cannot be forced. Forcing it will not change a thing. It is as futile as me telling my already dicovered artifact to re-manifest itself...Not going to happen. But that dang analogy did. I promise not to use it again. As the waaaambulance comes to take me away, I know I saw you raise your hand to slap me. I know that is not the right quote (Smashing Pumpkins, "Lily"), but it's working for now. Until then---

6.11.01

Up late for no apparent reason. The day is gone, and another has begun...yet I am awake to see the change every night! What am I doing to myself?! I know that I think that sleeping is a waste of my time but if I don't keep up with it, I'll end up keeling over! I need to watch myself...The world is harsh on you, can't let it squander away the time we have here. Must take all the hours, one at a time, expand them and create with them. That's all time is good for: creation. Life as I know it is an explosion: you never will know exactly where the pieces will fall. Fire is unpredictable, so it is fun to play with or to, at the very least, watch. Life is unpredictable as well but must be experieced. LIVE!! Whether it be your choice to live a Christian life, a pagan life or even just trying to achieve true anarchy (which is impossible by the way, I used to think it was soooooo cool), LIVE. Be who you need to be to get out of the system. Corporate sucks!! I don't believe in capitalism, or communism, I think that it's all about socialism. Accepting and sure, it will come through to the masses and prove great. That is all, I must rest...Not Sleep!! Until then---

5.11.01

Dancing is fun! Not that fun, but I needed something to start off with. Today was fun, mostly. Watched us lose our last soccer game due to the worst call that I've ever seen in my history of playing soccer. We ended up losing 1-0 but that's okay coz I realize that I'll be free to do a lot more things that I want to do besides soccer. The only problem is that I know that I'll be keeping up my same eating habits meaning I'll become a fat slob...very soon. NOT GOOD! I must soon devise a "Don't Become A Fat Slob" plan that consists of working out...not eating less. I wouldn't want to do that.
I finally saw "Almost Famous" and I thought that it was great! I've seen a lot of movies this weekend...but anyway I really wanted t see it when it came out but I somehow missed it along with a plethera of other movies that I meant to see over the years. I'm definitely glad that I didn't just forget about this one. It's totally the way that I think I'm going to end up...almost famous. Never making it, although I will be putting out all of my efforts. Sad? Yeah but I'm over it...I don't know why though. A dream that is that easy to get over, must not be a dream. SO I guess that I'm really not over it. But I really don't think that I'll make it all the way for some weird reason. Maybe it's just me being stupid again...the DORK factor kicking in once again!
So, I don't know what it is, but I think that I might have finally found another girl that I think would be someone worth dating. Yet another adventure in that wonderful world of TRYING to get a date. WelI think that now I'll be working on my plan of attack...right...Until then---

4.11.01

YEAH!!! Through much trial and tribulation, my Morrison & Weiland page should be ready for action...not that it's going to get any...But I've spent a good amount of time trying to make it a site worthwhile to see. And yes, I've been doing this instead of updating this page. Oh, so sad. I'm sure that I was sorely missed. I know I missed you...
Anyway, soccer ends today. I'm sad but relieved because I know that we should be going on to the tournament because we're a darn good team, yet the most unlucky, but I'm glad that I'll have more time for other things for a while. I'll miss soccer though...It is life even if I didn't make roster. Just practicing everyday made me happy. I sound so pathetic. Oh well. Next season, Panthers...next season.
Well, all I have to say is: Monsters, Inc., great movie! Saw it yesterday with eight other college students and we were the only ones in the theater that didn't have any little kids attached. That's okay though; it was enjoyed by all. It's another day of living which requires sleep prior to it so I'm going to get on that immediately. The sun will shine brighter in the day. Until then---
